Guitar_Free_Fret_CalculatorBy using the free fret calculator, a chart is generated to give the positions. You choose the appropriate column; whether you go from a zero fret or the nut.

The accuracy is astonishing: the device has the ability to place the cutting blade well within 0.004 inch (0.1mm) of position. This is a great advantage to what already exists on the market:

  1. You don’t need to purchase a new hole plate every time you need a new scale length.
  2. You can offer your own fret slotting service to other Luthiers
  3. Accuracy is maintained because there is no hole plate wear since the device needs no hole plates! Note: current hole plate devices only offer 0.005 inch (0.127mm) positional accuracy.
  4. Not only can the slotter be used for cutting accurate finger boards, it can also be used for cutting accurate, evenly spaced linings for acoustic instruments.
  5. If you like using a hole plate system because you’ve got a production run to do, then a special hardened steel drill bush and locator pin kit can be purchased so that you can drill your own custom hole plates!

And the price? £290.00 sterling! (Plus Post & Packing)

Hard to believe? This is how it works.
